XT225 TW200 Adventure at Haspin Acres - Mud and Guts!
The XT225 and TW200 take on Haspin Acres in Southeastern Indiana! It's an off-road park that's seen decades of use and abuse by all things two- and four-wheeled. It's pretty bombed out, making for some mud, guts, and rocky climbs. Ride along with Adventure Roger and me as we check it out!

The Yamaha XT225 is Back ... Let's Ride!
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
The Yamaha XT225 is rebuilt and back on the road! Last year I started getting metal shavings in my oil filter and, after a complete teardown, it turns out that sixth gear was starting to fail. It took months to get the new parts in due to lengthy backorders but now, almost a year later, we're rolling again. Let's goooo!!! If you’ve enjoyed this video I hope you’ll give it a “like” and will cons...

100cc 2 Stroke Motorcycle Adventure Ride and Review on my 2-Stroke 1972 Yamaha LT2 100 Enduro
Просмотров 13 тыс.3 года назад
A 100cc 2 stroke motorcycle adventure ride? On a 50-year-old vintage 2-stroke Yamaha Enduro? Yessirree! Sure, on a modern, reliable, full-sized motorcycle this 82 mile route would have been routine and no big deal. But on a tiny old bike that hasn't been running for decades? Well, it makes every mile seem longer and every little obstacle seem bigger. If you’ve enjoyed this video I hope you’ll g...
Why I Bought a Vintage Motorcycle in 2021 - 1972 Yamaha LT2 100 Enduro

I bought a vintage motorcycle recently, a 1972 Yamaha LT2 100 Enduro, and working on it reminded me of childhood memories. Yamaha TW200 Ride Review on the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway in Kentucky

This Yamaha TW200 ride review hadn't been planned and it came together quickly when a buddy offered me his bike for the weekend. We'd planned a trip to ride the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky but then my XT225 developed a few problems. Since I was without a bike he offered up the 2010 T-Dub and, well, it was a blast! Metal Shavings in the Oil Filter - UGH
Просмотров 16 тыс.3 года назад
Ugh. The Yamaha XT225 had metal shavings in the oil filter, so I decided to tear the engine down. This is NOT the way I wanted to be spending the summer riding season but, hey, the bike has given almost 17,000 pretty hard miles. Sooner or later it's going to need some attention, I guess. TOP 5 Likes and Dislikes - 2006 Yamaha XT225 1992-2007
Просмотров 18 тыс.3 года назад
This is a long one - 26 minutes - sharing my top 5 likes and dislikes for my 2006 Yamaha XT225, plus what I call "compromises." The XT225 was first introduced in Japan in 1985 and was then imported to the US from 1992-2007. It's kind of odd that an outdated motorcycle like this has remained so relevant but I like to think that our community here has something to do with it. If you’ve enjoyed th...

The XT225 and I met up with Adventure Roger and his new (to him) TW200 for a Southern Ohio dual sport misadventure ride. Work has been busy this year so this was my first off-road ride of the season. It felt good to knock some rust off ...

The wobble is real. Kenda K270s front rear that's what I have. Happens at higher speeds around 40 to 80 mph but it happens when they're new.... I think. I've probably put down like a thousand or more miles on them at this point and I haven't felt it in a while. And I'm talking about just riding upright and not leaning into corners and I haven't actually felt the wobble whilst leaning into Corners maybe I haven't leaned in far enough but I feel like I'm leaning a lot like around 60 - 65° angle. I love how tall these tires are give me a solid half inch over competitors giving my ride height more ground clearance seems to perform well on Highway and on the dirt and don't lose traction as much as I thought I would. Answer that and I have a medium sized dirt bike trail bike kind of thing you know the XR250L 291 pounds wet leaning into corners I've gotten pretty comfortable doing it side knobs are pretty durable no chunking at all.

Jim .... I have a XR650L that was ridiculously high.... I lowered it 4" front and rear... here's how I did it...1) bought handle bar risers which raised the handle bars 1" but allowed me to get them out of the way for the forks to come up. 2) I added 1/2" of steel to an adjustable lowering link that was supposed to drop the bike 2" but that was not enough for me (30" inseam) so I added 1/2" of steel to the adjuster and lowered it to where I could flat foot the bike and locked it down..... touching the ground with just the balls of your feet is not low enough you need to go lower , Yes I am aware that they do not make a lowering kit that lowers any bike more than 2" so make your own plates add 1/2" to 3/4" and make your own or have the welding shop make them for you. take one off and take it to him and tell him to make you 2 that are 1/2" to 3/4" longer between the center of the bolt holes !!!!! it's that easy i noticed in your video that your handle bars do need raised so you have max control a set of handle bar risers would do you alot of good and allow the front to go down even more.... so the end results is a XR650L (stock seat height 37") lowered to aprox. 31" seat height uncompressed. I softened up the pre load as well and took a long knife to the foam on the seat..... and your right I need a seat concepts seat ! LOL an hours ride makes my butt hurt ! for 2 days !!! it's just too thin a seat ! the rear swing arm on my bike is just shy of horizontal on it it is horizontal and I have no handling problems at all with this setup. being short really sucks !!!

I am using kenda 2.75 21 and 4.10 18 on my 200 CC dirt bike..it has over 130kg of weight..not a light dirtbike..after about 10k km on and off road.. the front still has more than 70% and about 50% on the back so the durability is there..the problem i have like u said the tired are to skinny..not only for the look but it also struggle in muddy terrain espesially the front cause it has closer block pattern and not enough contact surface..in the asphalt i have only 1 complain on heavy rain..but i usually stop when rain start to drop😂

Great video and I'm sure it's going to help me out with my mods 👍 - just one observation regarding the kickstand. Would cutting and welding back not create a point of failure in the future? As in a point for it to break from? I often kickstart from standing on it so it time I think it might have some stress on it, potentially breaking it. While I still need to document myself on this, I'd say it wouldn't hurt asking around a question or two before modding the kickstand - feel free to share their opinion on this.
